Raspberry ramble

I remember the first time I laid eyes on these jeans.
It was about seven years ago when I came across a little write-up in Australia's Girlfriend magazine, detailing the upcoming collection of Supatube jeans by Lee, available in several colours. By the time I saw the word "raspberry", I was in love. I phoned the information number provided almost every day until I was given a store delivery date and I was probably the first one in Sydney to buy them, so eager was I.
However, since those heady days of Girlfriend magazine, I have had one major issue with my beloved* Lee Supatubes: everyone thinks that they are red. Trivial, I know, but the fact that they are a deep, hot pink - "raspberry", if you will recall - affects what I wear them with and how I perceive them. I am a girly girl and I love pink. And when every person I meet while wearing these jeans says that they are red, I feel like everything I've ever taken to be the truth is a lie. It's like people are saying, "you know the sky is green, right?" I feel as if I'm in The Twilight Zone. Why can't everyone else see what I see?!
Anyway, I love these jeans. I'm rocking my new Gideons too. Yeeeaaah man.

*While I do adore these jeans, they are still jeans and therefore, a bitch. See this previous post of mine for more on this subject: http://aprilrosepengilly.blogspot.com/2011/06/winter-blues.html
