Movie Monday

Rainy days call for a dose of film history, so I at last made time to watch the 1956 classic musical, High Society. Based on the Philip Barry play The Philadelphia Story, the film stars Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Grace Kelly in her final role prior to becoming Princess of Monaco (she actually wears the Cartier engagement ring given to her by Prince Rainer in the film!). While this star-studded tale of self-discovery and rather shocking infidelity is enjoyable and definitely worth watching, I don't think it will join my collection of favourite old films (which includes Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Sound of Music, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Wizard of Oz, Dial M For Murder, and so on and so forth).
Take a gander at the jarringly edited trailer for High Society below.
